Sonic Terrasact is an artist’s retreat that is focused on musical art. It is expreriental building that will provide musicians an experience thorugh out the building with it’s acoustic elements . While keeping exterior of the building minimalist we have deisgned inteir space all for the artist’s who will be occupying the space and as well as for the visitors. This musical retreat is an a place where the msician will have a chance to stay as long as they, while composing their masterpieces and after completion of the projects they get to leave and new artists get to use the spaces. Its ia shared space for the artists in this beautiful location that our client provided us . Keeping the landscae of the land is key to our design since it helps it to become even more dramatic.
Our site is located on the outskirts of Chicago, a place rich in personal history for our client, as it was once her childhood home. Now, she envisions a new creation that both honors the past and embraces a fresh architectural vision. The site is characterized by a diverse array of trees surrounding an open central space, naturally forming a private and secluded environment for the user. Beyond this natural enclosure, the landscape extends into vast cornfields, reinforcing a sense of tranquility and connection to the rural surroundings. This unique setting presents an opportunity to design a space that seamlessly integrates with nature while providing a harmonious balance between openness and seclusion.

Ground floor - is a place for artist to record themselves, in a quite space. The ground floor has access to only to the artist who is living in the building. It includes various shaped studio spaces, a bathroom, mechanical room, and storage room for musical instumenst and etc. First floor- is a semi-private. It has a acoustical experimental space for users and also for visitors. Mainly fouces on relaxing and performing. This floor inlcudes a kitchen and lounge space as well. Second floor- is a private space for users of the building. All of the rest spaces are included in this lfloor. This floor has 4 bedrooms with attcahed bathrooms. a kitchen space, outdoor lounge space and lastly observational space from second floor looking to the experimental acoustic space.
