Home and Studio
An architectural home and studio at Bridgeport, Chicago. The idea behind the project is having bracket idea, where home takes in the studio space. The goal is to separate private from the public area with the help of having a glass cube on the north side of the building. The glass cube will prevent the sound from the private to the public, at the same time providing the visual connection. The site is located in the south of Chicago. In a diverse neighborhood. our goal was to embody the design to its site by keeping it private residentional space and allowing semi pivacy for the studio space.

The tile work was designed to enhance the character of the space, featuring an abstract fusion of ornamental and Gothic influences. Through an iterative process, the tiles were arranged in various compositions until achieving a harmonious and visually compelling result. Crafted from mycelium, these tiles introduce a sustainable, biodegradable, and fire-resistant material into the design. By incorporating this innovative bio-based material, the project not only celebrates artistic expression and historical motifs but also aligns with contemporary principles of eco-conscious design and material innovation.
